WELCOME TO THE FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGY & PERSONALITY LAB
The Forensic Psychology and Personality Lab is located in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University and is led by Dr. Julie Blais. We conduct research in a number of different areas including psychopathy, risk assessment and risk communication, and the role that personality plays in understanding behaviour, more broadly.
Our Team
Dr. Julie Blais is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University. Prior to joining the department in July 2020, Dr. Blais was an Assistant Professor at Carleton University (2015-2020). She completed her doctoral work at Carleton University and held a post-doctoral fellowship at Brock University. Dr. Blais’ research can be divided into three interrelated areas: 1) examining forensic risk assessment and risk communication in the criminal justice system, 2) understanding the role of psychopathy within risk assessments, and 3) examining personality correlates to both prosocial and antisocial behaviour more broadly.
